Registration and Accommodations
Registration to the Sloan-Swartz Annual Meeting is “by invitation only” -- open only to those with Sloan-Swartz or Swartz Center affiliation, or other invited guests. All registration requests must be received by May 15 to ensure lodging and related logistics.
You will be included on our email alert list with the email address you provide in the registration form. If you are not attending, but need to be on the event mailing list, contact us online with your request.
Meeting participants will stay in the Janelia “Conference Housing” facility. It is located next to the Landscape Building - #2 on the campus map.
Please make your own logistics arrangements to and from Ashburn, VA, and the Janelia Farm campus.
If arriving at Dulles Airport, go to the ground transportation area, and take a cab to Janelia Farm. It is approximately a 15 minute cab ride to the campus, and the cost should be about $25.
If arriving from Washington D.C., the drive to Janelia Farm is about 45 minutes.
Upon arrival, please check in at the Reception Desk in the Landscape Building.
Three free shuttle service departures to Dulles Airport will be available at the close of the meeting on Thursday, July 14 - at approximately 4:00, 4:45 and 5:30 PM.
Dulles Taxi & Sedan is the recommended ground transportation firm.
You can also check with the receptionist in the Landscape Building for assistance with your ground transportation needs during the conference.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner for meeting attendees will be served in the dining room in the Landscape Building.
There will be several food choices at each meal, including vegetarian. Participants are encouraged to let us know in advance of any special dietary needs (include these requests on your registration form).
Refreshments will also be provided during meeting breaks.
Bob’s Pub (in the Landscape building) is available for snacks and refreshments in the evenings after the meeting sessions. Each attendee will be provided a $20 credit for use in Bob’s Pub.
You may bring your own laptop, or bring your presentation on a portable drive, USB drive or CD. Macs and PCs will also be available for use by presenters. Printers and computers are also available in the library.
